I am and have been in a period of transition in my life. I just finished a contract with the BC Lions Football Club at the end of November and will be doing a Certificate in Public Relations in April 2014. In the meantime? I will be working on developing myself, my fitness and sorting through and determining my goals.
I’ve been on a series of coffee chats of late. These chats are amazing and so inspiring. It is really astonishing how refreshed and eager I am to take on the world after these meetings. I think this is a testament that I love talking and working with people.
I met with Kelvin Claveria, who inspired and pushed me to start my own blog. A few days later, the name dawned on me. Running with Steph. I’ve been on a mission to take charge of my health since August 2013. I caught the running bug and have fallen in love with it. I love seeing the progress you can make and how much farther you can reach each day. I’ve moved my running inside recently, because I am a true Vancouverite and a chicken in the cold. Although, you don’t really see the distance you cover (other than the mileage stat), I view it as running towards a goal. This metaphor really works for me and motivates me to keep going. I think this is perfect for the blog.
I will be trying to blog with full honesty. I take inspiration from Jillian Walker’s blog for disclosure. I know that it is important to present myself online how I want professionals to see me. I am a real person with highs and lows. I am going to try to present all challenges and adventures in a positive light, because I think that is so important. It is much better to dwell on the positive and that is something I am working on in all areas of my life. But I also want you to know that I am a real person. I meet challenges and walls and want to document those experiences on the blog as well.
Until next time!
